Fujiwara 1140m is an easy dayhike from Nagoya. The mountain is accessible year round and not too difficult in winter. Spikes and poles will be enough. From the top you'll have nice views of the mountains surrounding it and the shelter hut makes it a good choice for stargazing and overnight hiking.

Park your car at the trailhead or take the train to Nishi Fujiwara Station. The train station itself is quite interesting and looks like a train and there are some old trains on display. Its a 5min walk to the trailhead. The trailhead has a little hut with waiting room, toilets and a place to wash your shoes.
Trail description
The trail starts right behind the hut up the street after a couple of minutes uphill. The entrance into the forest is a little harder to spot, it's useful to have the trail downloaded on yamap to check and not miss it. Once you're in the forest it's a steady climb through the forest. After about two hours you get to a little plateau and there is a shelter hut here and toilets. The shelter has benches and tables on the ground floor and a sleeping section on the second floor for overnight stays.
After the hut turn left and walk slightly down and you'll already see the peak. One more little climb and you'll be at the top. The top has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains as Fujiwara is one of the higher peaks.
Fujiwara makes for a nice dayhike from Nagoya. If you go in winter don't forget to bring spikes and poles, the trail gets icy and is too steep to walk without.
