Fujiwara 1140m is an easy dayhike from Nagoya. The mountain is accessible year round and not too difficult in winter. Spikes and poles will be enough. From the top you'll have nice views of the mountains surrounding it and the shelter hut makes it a good choice for stargazing and overnight hiking.

Park your car at the trailhead or take the train to Nishi Fujiwara Station. The train station itself is quite interesting and looks like a train and there are some old trains on display. Its a 5min walk to the trailhead. The trailhead has a little hut with waiting room, toilets and a place to wash your shoes.
Trail description
Trail starts right behind the hut and is a steady climb up through the forest. The entrance into the forest is kinda hard to spot, definitely useful to have the trail downloaded on yamap to check. After about two hours you get to a little plateau and there is a shelter hut here and toilets. Shelter looked decent for an overnight stay.
The turn leftish and you'll already see the peak. One more little climb and you'll be at the top. The top has really nice views of the surrounding mountains as Fujiwara is one of the higher peaks.
We went end of February which is maybe not the prettiest time. Not enough snow anymore but nothing growing yet either. I would recommend going earlier or a little bit later when everything blooms or is fully covered by snow. On a clear day you'll have nice views!
Fujiwara makes for a nice dayhike from Nagoya. Definitely recommended if you're in the area.
